Border Agency under attack from Huppert over immigration
The UK Border Agency has come under fire from Cambridge MP Julian Huppert for taking too long to process immigration claims.
He claims there is “something fundamentally wrong” in the way the agency operates with some cases taking years to process.
City volunteers receive special thankyou from MP
June 18, 2010Cambridge volunteers received a special thank you from MP Julian Huppert when he attended an event organised by Volunteering England.
Julian joined 50 MPs from around the country in London during Volunteers’ Week to pay tribute to the volunteers who give their time to benefit their communities.
Huppert joins Olympic cyclist to support bike ride
June 17, 2010MP Julian Huppert joined Olympic and World Champion cyclist, Victoria Pendleton for a three mile bike ride across central London yesterday morning (Wednesday).
Victoria launched the annual All Party Parliamentary Bike Ride from Victoria to Westminster which called in at the Churchill Primary School in Pimlico where the youngsters were taking part in Bikeability cycle training.
MP teams up with celebrity GP to mark Carers Week
Cambridge MP Julian Huppert has teamed up with, Dr Chris Steele, the celebrity GP from ITV’s This Morning to celebrate the contribution made by the city’s carers.
Julian is supporting Carers Week, which runs until June 20 with the theme “A Life of My Own”.
Huppert fights to overturn "flawed" visa rules
June 15, 2010Cambridge MP Julian Huppert is fighting to overturn “flawed” regulations introduced by the Labour government which could affect all the city’s language schools.
He wants to overturn legislation which means that students from outside the EU who want to come to Britain need to have an understanding of English equivalent to A level even to apply for a visa.
