Fair Tax

I want Britain to be a fairer place. 

It's wrong that the rich pay a lower rate of tax on their income than the poor and that's why I want a fairer tax system.

With the Lib Dems, no-one would pay tax on the first £10,000 they earn every year. This would mean a £700 tax cut for the low-paid and average earners.

To pay for this, the Liberal Democrats would close loopholes for the richest and introduce a tax on mansions worth more than £2 million. We would also make sure people get their fair share of help towards their future pensions with everyone receiving the same benefits, instead of wealthier people getting a bigger handout from the government.
